The striking thing about Suvarna's music is the sheer beauty of her melodies. They stay with you,and some become part of you. Her music combines the clarity and purity of classical Indian music with a freshness and driving vitality that lifts you into joy.

In concert, the full, rich sound of voice, keyboard, violin, guitar and tabla from this trio of happy people becomes so rocking that it pulls many in the audience up onto their feet to dance. At some points we are invited to sing a familiar mantra as a refrain. Between songs Suvarna or Jamie read short poems or prose by mystics of the eternal now. A great reminder. The whole experience is energetically enriching and so much fun.

I wish you great luck with upcoming concert engagements. Really your music is so positive and vital that it needs to be heard. And you can quote me on that too.

Listening to Suvarna's music is a very magical experience because it is so intimate. It does not feel like a show really. It feels more like a sharing. Music in the East is a way of communing with the divine and even though Suvarna and the other musicians are all from Western countries, the flavor is distinctively Eastern. There were some very unusual parts, things I had never seen done before - for instance playing violin and singing at the same time. I loved the poetry and the stories between the songs; it was especially amazing to hear the translation of an Italian poem, which sounded so ecstatic and connected with the divine - so far from what we normally get to see as Italian or European, so exotic.

What I love most about Eastern music is the playfulness and also the respect that the musicians show for each other, giving space to each other, conversing through sound. It is a wordless dialogue between three people, describing the divine or telling a joke - it is often hard to tell which. Perhaps it is both. Perhaps they are both one and the same thing. In the experience of communing with the divine through their music lots of laughter comes up. Lots of joy!
Thank you. It was a beautiful evening. The next night I went to a show by a bunch of very famous musicians and I couldn't help but compare my experiences. The following night was so ... well, it was dull really.

A diverse blend of original compositions, delivered with passion and grace.
Fluid, rich, sensual. Especially moving, her violin-vocal duets."

Songs of love, meditation and celebration are sung in Eastern languages by Suvarna, in her clear, strong voice. There is lightness and playfulness in her performance that seems to reflect her spiritual Master, Osho, from whom she draws the inspiration for the songs she sings.

Not Kirtan, this music is more Western in its feel and harmonic structure. Suvarna accompanies herself on keyboard and electric violin, with Jamie St. Clair on guitar and Steve Bross on tabla. It was a spirited, lighthearted evening with these three musicians, who play well together and enjoy the music they play. We all enjoyed too! Some even got up and danced.
